ALICE BENSON (she/her)
PLAY Coordinator
Alice Benson brings extensive experience in community engagement, event management, fundraising, and sport administration, along with a passion for ensuring that all children have the opportunity to participate in sport.
Since 2008, Alice has been involved with KidSport North Shore, serving in roles spanning community relations, events, fundraising, and grant administration. Her involvement began while working as a registrar for a local swim club, where she saw firsthand the financial barriers preventing families from accessing sport. A friendship with KidSport North Shore co-founder Karen Lidster inspired her to join the organization, and carrying on Karen's legacy of ensuring that All Kids Can Play remains a driving force in her work.
Alice has also dedicated many years to supporting youth sport and community organizations, including serving on committees and boards for local swimming and water polo clubs, as well as holding leadership and fundraising roles at Mulgrave School.
Beyond sport, Alice has been an active member of the internationally acclaimed Lions Gate Chorus since 2013, contributing as a board member, performance and events coordinator, show producer, singer, and front-row dancer.
Born and raised in Victoria, BC, Alice attended the University of Victoria, where she met both her husband and lifelong friend, OneAbility Games Event Manager, Tami Tate. Having collaborated with Tami on numerous events over the years, Alice was excited to volunteer at the inaugural OneAbility Games in 2026 and is thrilled to now be part of the team.
