DINEO “DEE” TSHOSA (she/her)

Volunteer Coordinator

From volunteering at the Paralympic Games to building a career in adapted physical activity, Dee has spent the past decade championing disability inclusion and creating meaningful opportunities for people with disabilities to participate, contribute, and lead through sport.

Throughout her career, Dee has worked across the disability sport landscape in a variety of roles, including supporting athletes at international competitions, resource development, stakeholder engagement, and Games management. She has also contributed to advancing disability inclusion within organizations, strengthening her belief that meaningful inclusion goes beyond access and participation. It requires intentional systems, supportive environments, and opportunities for people with disabilities to have a genuine voice in shaping their experiences.

Currently a PhD Candidate in Adapted Physical Activity at the University of Alberta, Dee's research focuses on inclusive research with people with intellectual disabilities, exploring how individuals can meaningfully contribute to research and knowledge creation. She also serves on the Board of the North American Federation of Adapted Physical Activity (NAFAPA), supporting the advancement of the field and its professional community.

As Volunteer Coordinator for OneAbility Games, Dee brings together her expertise in inclusive sport, event management, and community engagement to help create a welcoming and meaningful experience for volunteers. She is excited to support an event that celebrates sport at every level, from introducing students with disabilities to new opportunities through PLAY to showcasing competitive athletes through ACHIEVE.

Dee is passionate about working alongside volunteers, athletes, families, and community partners to help create an environment where everyone feels valued, connected, and empowered to contribute to the success of the Games.
