Event Manager

Tami Tate has an extensive background in event management, sport administration and marketing. She has managed every aspect of events and campaigns, from creative concept, budget development, marketing, media relations, registration, and sponsorship, to administration, fundraising, logistics and more.

With both a bachelor’s degree in recreation administration and a master’s degree in sport administration from the University of Victoria, Tami went on to work for a decade at the Sport & Recreation Branch of the BC Government, managing its multi-sports games program Team BC.

In 1998 she started her own event management company, where she entrenched herself in the event industry in Victoria. She continued managing the Team BC program as a contractor until 2009 as well as putting on numerous events/fundraisers. From coming up with the concept and management of the UrbaCity Challenge, to being on the management team for the 24 Hour Relay, Royal Victoria Marathon, Goddess Run, Tour de Victoria, TC10K and more, Tami has worked with numerous committees and non-profit organizations. Most recently, she consulted with ISPARC as the Senior Manager Team BC, 2023 North American Indigenous Games.

Today, she is the Director, Marketing and Media for the Royal Victoria Marathon and is excited to join the OneAbility Games team as the Event Manager, diving back into her love for logistics and operations.
