Valerie Gosselin is a social profit leader with over 10 years of experience across the nonprofit, public, and private sectors. She has explored multiple industries and worked internationally in search of work that truly aligned with her values. Through these experiences, Valerie discovered that her passion lies in community care, equity, and helping people access opportunities that allow them to thrive.
Valerie brings a strong foundation in business, sales, and communications, and has led fundraising campaigns, built donor relationships, supported inclusive programs, and developed partnerships that reflect the values of the communities served. She has served as a board director, executive leader, and program strategist for organizations including Athletics for Kids, PacificSport Vancouver Island, the Canadian Cancer Society, and the BC Lupus Society—always guided by curiosity, compassion, and a deep desire to help others.
What motivates Valerie most is trust—between donors and organizations, between teams and the people they support, and between vision and action. To her, fundraising is never just about dollars; it’s about creating lasting, meaningful change. Bilingual in English and French, Valerie combines strategic expertise with relational leadership, enabling her to build strong connections with diverse stakeholders, communicate effectively across communities, and lead teams with empathy and clarity. A lifelong athlete, she has participated in sports including outrigger canoeing, running, cycling, and volleyball, reflecting her enduring love of sport and community.
Based in Port Alberni and proud of her French Canadian and South American heritage, Valerie brings a global perspective, a collaborative spirit, and a values-driven approach to advancing inclusive, high-impact initiatives.
